Within this pilot, sulphide concentrates are subjected to a bio-leaching process. The pilot is able to process 100 kg of concentrate per day. The pregnant leaching solution is subjected to iron-precipitation after which valuable metals are precipitated as a mixed Co-Ni-Cu-Zn-hydroxide concentrate. The hydroxide concentrate is subsequently dissolved after which CuS and ZnS and (Co-Ni)S, are precipitated. Arsenic is removed during the Fe-hydroxide precipitation.
